Corby Town were rocked last weekend to learn of the passing of Dave Henderson.

Dave will go down as one of the most successful managers of Corby Town Youth.

In 2006/07, he led the team to the League and Championship play off double with a side of first year youth teamers, and it was this team that he helped turn into a treble winning side the following season.

the 2007/08, Dave led the team to the same two trophies as the previous season while also adding the Northants Senior Youth League Cup. The side also reached the FA Youth Cup second round, where the young Steelboys battles valiantly in defeat at Luton Towns Kenilworth Road. The side missed out on an uprecedented treble for the club following a defeat to Merthyr Tydfil at Cirencester FC in the British Gas Southern League Youth Cup final.

Henderson also had a brief spell in charge of the first team in January 2008, stepping in following the sacking of Kevin Wilson and before the announcement of Graham Drury.

It was not just his coaching that made him the man that was admired by so many in the footballing world. Dave made the time to help nurture many players that still play the game to this day. On the day of the British Gas final with Cirencester, he fought tooth and nail to provide transport for the families of the players to give them the opportunity to watch their own play in what would turn out, for many, to be the last time they played alongside one another.

The thoughts of everyone at Corby Town FC are with the family of Dave Henderson at this time.

RIP Dave and thank you for everything you did for the club!
