Steel Park, 13/01/2024 – Corby Town Football Club's Board of Directors would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our supporters for their overwhelmingly positive response to our last announcement. Your passion and commitment to our club are the driving forces behind our decisions and future plans. We are proud to announce that we now have a record number of 193 season ticket holders. Additionally, the buoyant sales of replica shirts and gifts have enabled a generous donation of £1,000 from the Club Shop for the festive period, reflecting the remarkable commitment of our fans.
We are also thrilled to share that, following productive meetings with owners and manager Gary Setchell, our management, playing, and backroom staff have agreed to a 10% cut in wages. This decision, made in the spirit of unity and commitment to the club's future, is a significant measure to help with the budget. Furthermore, Gary Setchell has committed his long-term future to Corby Town FC. Gary expressed his delight at having resolved this short-term issue and is looking forward to a strong end to the season, as well as a bright future for the club.
Following this, we are excited to announce that we have been in discussions about Paul Glass's proposal to return the former clubhouse to the sole control of Corby Town Football Club. This initiative is a significant step towards reinforcing the bond between the club and its supporters.
The vehicle to achieve this will be the re-establishment of the Corby Town Supporters Club. This committee, run by its members, will be a testament to the community spirit that embodies our club. We are calling upon our loyal supporters to rally behind this idea. Furthermore, we are eager to hear from those who wish to take a more active role by joining the committee to manage the venue.
This initiative addresses the community's concerns about the revenue from the clubhouse and ensures that it becomes an integral part of our club and community. The clubhouse will be available for supporters to book for celebrations and events, with 100% of proceeds directly benefiting Corby Town FC.
We are also pleased to share that the Club has received several approaches from potential volunteers. We plan to hold discussions with all interested parties. Additionally, we are exploring a number of suggestions to increase investment and turnover, demonstrating our commitment to the growth and success of Corby Town FC.
In conclusion, we are grateful for your unwavering support and look forward to working together to write the next exciting chapter in the history of Corby Town Football Club. Your involvement is crucial to our success, and we encourage you to join us in these new endeavours.
Together, we are stronger.
