Corby Town Football Club condemns the incidents reported during and following Saturday’s fixture, in which objects were thrown onto the field of play and disorder occurred involving supporters.
An object thrown late in the match was reported to match officials. The individual responsible, a 13-year-old supporter, has been identified and has received an indefinite ban from attending Corby Town fixtures. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Club is also investigating a separate incident involving a coin being thrown from a stand containing both home and away supporters. While no one was injured, the object landed in close proximity to players. Any action that endangers players, officials, or staff is a serious breach of conduct and undermines the safety of the game. The Club urges anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
Furthermore, the Club has been made aware of an altercation between supporters after the match, which regrettably resulted in a young supporter requiring hospital treatment. CCTV footage has identified a group of individuals in the vicinity, and Corby Town Football Club is assisting enquiries to establish responsibility. We request that anyone with relevant information contact the Club immediately.
Information can be submitted in confidence to info@corbytown.co.uk.
Corby Town Football Club is proud of the majority of its supporter base and asks all fans to continue supporting the team in a positive and respectful manner. A Code of Conduct is in place and is available in the matchday programme and on the Club’s website. These expectations apply equally at home and away fixtures, as we work together to ensure football remains a safe and welcoming environment for all.
