Corby Town 1 Darlaston Town 2
Steelmen beaten at home and drop to 3rd in the table.
Corby started with a high press, enjoyed the lion’s share of possession and had half a dozen chances that could have changed the score line. The problem was they couldn’t score. Darlaston turned up with the intention to sit back and defend that that’s the story of the first half.
In the 2nd half the visitors saw a break and with Corby failing to stop a cross in the box, the blues went on up thanks to sub Rivel Mardenborough on 49 minutes. Following the goal the away team wasted as much time on the pitch as they could to the point that it was almost embarrassing. They did score again, Corby found wanting at the back Jake Pearson with the goal on 83. There was 6 minutes added after the 90, and that took 8 minutes to see out in which time Corby pulled one back thought debutant Gary Stohrer but it was too little too late.
