Steelmen start brightly but then it all goes wrong.
The club were glad the game was on, the pitch the biggest issue after a week of signing on 8 or so new players, and when Halliday hit the woodwork on 11, and then Crawford shot just wide term minutes later the home crowd felt comfortable but on 34, a silly push on the back gave Long Eaton a penalty and there was no coming back. By the end of the 47 mins of the first half it was 4 nil to the visitors.
In the second half Corby looked to stead the ship for the early part of the restart, but errors allowed Long Eaton to step up a gear and pick Corby apart. A hat trick for Evan Garnett, and one each for Tristan Thompson Matthews, Gianluca Bucci, Jahvan Davison-Miller and an OG. This could be the start of a long season for Corby and shows the fragility of a club after the manager resigned.
