Kick off was delayed to get the nearly 900 thought the turnstiles in the derby fixture. Unfortunately the home crowd were silenced after 5 mins when captain Nketia headed home for Diamonds. Corby saw several good attempts on goal in the first 45mins but couldn't score the leveller.
The 2nd half saw the Steelmen come close seconds into the restart but 4 mins in and Nketia scored again, Corby allowing the Rushden attack to much space the ball stuck through the legs of the keeper. There was hope on 83, Corby awarded a soft penalty for a shirt pull, Harrah Jones scored from the spot and it was game on until Diamonds scored in added time to take the 3 points.
