It was a one-way traffic for the hosts for the first twenty minutes, but Corby grew into the game, and it was a balanced contest by half time. Goalless after the first 45 minutes, Long Eaton with more chances, but Corby with the best attempt by Nuttall.
In the second half Corby were quick out the traps, but forced into an early substitution Daire off, Lewthwaite on, his first couple of touches pull saved out of Lewis King. However, with the hosts playing a high line, the Steelmen sprang the offside trap, and Gary Stohrer ran through to score. The Blues huffed and puffed towards the end, but Corby take the points.
