Corby Town v Coleshill Town | Wednesday 21st August | BetVictor Southern Football League Division One Central

111 days since our last competetive match at Steel Park, the exhilarating 5-3 play off win against Bedford Town, we are back to kick start our home 2019/20 campaign!

A lot of changes have happened since our last match at Steel Park both on and off the pitch. Ashley Robinson and Gary Mulligan have taken over the managers role in a joint capacity, with Elliot Sandy assisting the pair.

On the pitch we have welcomed numerous players who have all been involved at some point over pre-season.

Saturday saw the Steelmen travel to Aylesbury United and come home with a 0-0 draw! The first half saw a host of great chances to take the lead squandered and ultimately a point was what we had to settle with!

Opposition

We welcome Coleshill back to Steel Park for the 2nd season running! The Colemen finished the last campaign in 9th position, 6 points outside the play offs.

Coleshill started the season with a 2-2 draw at home to Barton Rovers. Liam Molesworth with a first half brace.

LAST TIME WE MET

Corby Town did the double over Coleshill last season. Our first clash was a visit to North Warwickshire on August bank holiday Monday. On the plastic pitch at Peak Meadow, the team managed by Ashley Robinson ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Carta and Greg Ling.

The return fixture at Steel Park was on Boxing Day, and this time Corby had a more comfortable afternoon. The opener by Jordon Crawford followed by a brace from Connor Kennedy gave the Steelmen a 3-0 victory!

STATS CENTRE

  • Saturday was the first league game Corby had failed to score in since the last day of the 2017/18 season!
  • In fact, Saturday was the first 0-0 draw involving Corby since our home clash with Marine on Saturday 25th March, 2017!!
  • The clean sheet at Aylesbury United, was our first since New Years Day, 22 games ago!
