Corby Town ladies will go head to head with league rivals Thrapston Town Ladies on Saturday evening in the final of the Northamptonshire Women's & Girls Football League Cup.
A mouthwatering clash is expected at Raunds Town's Kiln Park stadium, with the top two sides in Ladies Division 1 having reached the final without either of them conceding a single goal.
Corby despatched Welland Valley Ladies 8-0 in the first round, before securing their place in the final with a 5-0 home victory over Peterborough United reserves in the quarter-finals and a 3-0 win over Woodford United in the semi-finals.
Saturday's opponents Thrapston beat Kettering FC 3-0, Northampton Town Reserves 3-0 and Moulton Ladies 1-0 to set up the battle for silverware with Corby.
The two teams haven't met since the opening day of the 2016/17 season when the newly promoted Corby Town Ladies were narrowly edged out in a 2-1 defeat. Nicole Coull had given the hosts a narrow lead at half-time, before Kelly Rickwood's second-half brace secured maximum points for Thrapston.
The cup final kicks off at 5.30pm and is being played at Kiln Park, Raunds, NN9 6EQ. Please come and show your support for Corby Town Ladies.
Good Luck Steelwomen!!
