STEELMEN GO NAP ON THE ROAD

This was an afternoon when everything fell neatly into place for Corby Town. The Steelmen put the frustrations of recent away fixtures behind them to convincingly beat a Sutton Coldfield side who had shown impressive form in their recent games.
Corby were without goalkeeper Jason Alexander due to an ankle injury and called up Reuben Rabstein, who was in familiar company as last season he was understudy to Alexander at Loughborough Dynamo.
Stuart Hendrie tested the young 'keeper early on with a long range attempt which Rabstein tipped over the crossbar and former Steelman Hendrie then floated in a centre from the right wing which came back off the inside of the far post.
Corby took the lead in the 24th minute when Hilton Arthur teed up Tristan Thompson-Matthews twenty five yards from goal and his fierce shot arrowed into the top corner of the net. Florian Tsaguim almost added a second shortly after with an effort which struck the base of a post but Corby did double their advantage in first half stoppage time.
Referee Mr Jordan Brooks pointed to the penalty spot when Arthur was unended inside the area but Royals' goalkeeper Jonno Brown guessed correctly to keep out Curtis Burrows' low kick. Brown's heroics turned out to be in vain, however, as Burrows took the resulting corner and Danny Gordon headed into the net from close range.
Sutton Coldfield needed a quick reply at the start of the second half to get themselves back into the game and they achieved just that in the 49th minute. A good move down the right involving Rhys Hilton and Hendrie was finished off emphatically by Lamin Ceesay.
It took Corby just a furher four minutes to re-establish their two-goal lead, however, as the unfortunate Yahiha Todd lifted the ball over his own 'keeper under pressure from Rio Molyneaux.
This goal knocked the stuffing out of the hosts and Corby scored twice more through Molyneaux and skipper Michael Jacklin after 62 and 66 minutes respectively while Rabstein in the Steelmen's goal proved more than capable of preventing the hosts from adding to their single strike.
