This weekend, Corby Town , along with the Corby Rugby club, will be playing host to the 5th annual Thomas McNamee Youth Football Tournament.

On Saturday 22nd June, sides in the age groups U6, U8, U10, U12 and U14 will take to the pitch, with Sunday 23rd June playing host to sides from the age grouops U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U16's.

Over 100 teams will be taking part over the course of the weekend. The gates will be open from 8.30am ready for the first games that will be kicking off at 9am.

Entry is £2 per adult and free for under 15's. There will also be a programme on sale that can be purchased for £1, this will contain all the fixtures over the weekend so you wont miss a match!

Also over the weekend you will be able to take part in numerous other activities. We will have a stall where you can challenge your mates and see how hard you can actually strike a ball! Our wonderful volunteers will be found all over the grounds this weekend, and also in Baxters Tea Shed where you will be able to purchase hot and cold beverages, crisps and chocolate. The clubhouse will be open for those looking for something a little stronger, Big B's ice cream van will be on hand to cool you down, Millz Munchies is there for those of you with more of a sweet tooth! The bar at Corby Town Rugby Club will also be open over the course of the weekend!

During the day you will have the chance to purchase a Red balloon for £1 and you can write any message you like on it. At the end of each day before the last final, we will conduct a minutes applause in memory of Thomas and then the balloons will be released.

Over the first four editions, this tournament in memory of Thomas, who suddenly passed away on 23rd October 2014, has helped to raise thousand of pounds for some worthwhile charitable causes, and with the move to a bigger venue, it is hoped that another fantastic total can be reached and help provide support to the British Heart Foundation.

Thomas was a hardworking, determined and lovable character & was a massive part of the Stewart & Lloyds FC U11’s age group, and his tragic passing was one which affected many people in the town of Corby, and we are proud to honour his memory and welcome all friends and family to a weekend where we can remember the life of a young caring person, while watching the game he loved!
