The Steelwomen in their all red away kit started the first half poorly and were 1-0 down at the half time break.
However, a vastly improved second half and a match winning performance from hat trick hero Zoe Watkins ensured that the Steelwomen would return to Corby victorious with their first 3 points of the season.
Corby Ladies manager George Joyce spoke of how pleased he was with his team’s response after a below par first half, ”the players responded really well and took the game to Loughborough”.
In addition, Joyce was full of praise for Zoe Watkins, “I’m buzzing for Zoe who worked hard throughout the game and thoroughly deserved her hat trick!”
The Steelwomen are next in action when they face Oadby & Wigston Ladies FC in the first round of the league cup on Sunday 30th September. The tie will be played on the main pitch at Steel Park kicking off at 1.30pm and Baxters Tea Shed will be open for refreshments on the day.
Please come along and cheer on the Steelwomen.
