Corby were comfortably beaten by a dominant Lutterworth side, but did have the consolation of Zoe Watkins scoring her tenth goal of the season.
Ladies manager George Joyce reflected on a disappointing afternoon, “We started brightly but injuries in the first half impacted our ability to find a rhythm. We were punished for not doing the basics well and Lutterworth deserved their win. We have had two bad results back to back and I expect us to bounce back in the cup”.
The Steelwomen’s next fixture will provide a needed distraction from league matters when they take on Boston United Ladies away in the EMWRFL plate quarter final on Sunday 27th January.
