Beaumont raced into the lead in the 4th minute, outpacing the Corby defence and taking advantage to open the scoring. Beaumont doubled their lead in the 41st minute with a devastating counter attack from a Corby corner. And it was 3 just before the half time whistle, Beamount finding space across the front of the Corby goal to rifled into the net.
Unfortunately, an entertaining second half failed to provide any Corby goals and Beaumont ran out 3-0 winners.
Coach JJ Sims shared his post match thoughts, “First half we were beat by quick counter attacks, second half we made a few changes and played much better. It’s a long season and we have a lot of work to do but it’s looking positive. I believe in our squad and think we can have a good season”.
Defeat for Corby but not all doom and gloom, positive attitudes and passages of confident passing play indicates this team is on the way up.
