Corby U10’s started their development league campaign today away to Rushden & Diamonds.
Corby a brand new team played a seasoned R&D team with many players playing in the u10’s league for a second season for R&D. So Corby new that they were in for a tough game.
Again a game of 2 half’s with Corby starting very brightly and for the first 5 to 10 minutes had R&D pinned in their half. R&D then started to show what a good team they are and got themselves into the game and took control of the half.
Second half was again a different Corby and similar to their previous game imposed themselves and deserved to get back into the game.
Although it was not the final score that the team were hoping for, but to be playing against players with experience and holding their own and actually winning the second half just shows what a special team the u10’s is and can become.
Special mention to Ami-Leigh who volunteered for goalie again and also to Lily who played in her first ever game and although nervous did excellently. And finally to Millie who was outstanding in the centre of midfield and deserved player of the match.
Well done girls considering the opposition today you played excellently. Played with smiles on your faces, gave it 100% and you played as a team. That is all that any coach can ask for and you have done yourselves proud again.
