Our u10’s played away at Crick Colts this morning. Credit to the team it was an early kick off so was an early rise for them all this morning.
The game was played in great spirit and we saw some of the best football our u10’s have played so far this season.
Everything we have been working on in training came together especially regarding finding space, passing and keeping our shape. In the first half the team really did blow Crick away with attack after attack and with many shots going close and with us hitting the back of the net 3 times with no reply.
2nd half we changed it up and with it being development football decided to try players in other positions they are not use to. This did give Crick a bit of momentum and although we still threatened we were unlucky not to score further goals and increase our lead.
It slightly showed that players were playing out of usual and favoured positions and Crick took full advantage and scored 3 goals themselves in the second half.
Overall a draw was a fair result although we could have won the game. The team is showing week by week it is getting better and is now proving to be a team that can match any other in this league regardless of how long they have been together. That is an amazing feet already!!!
Special mention to Rose who played her first game for Corby Town Ladies and Girls U10’s and went in goal and did an excellent job.
Also special mention to both Mary-Jayne and Aimee who both had excellent games with Aimee pipping Mary-Jayne to player of the match this week.
Well done girls we are so impressed on how you are progressing and it is great to see what is practiced in training filtering onto the pitch. Keep it up girls.
