Corby U11 Girls Make 2 wins from 2 with fine performance

Today our U11’s made it 2 for 2 with a great win away to Kettering Youth.

Corby started very brightly and quickly scored within the first 2 minutes of the game. The second was not far behind, Corby created chance after chance, and in the first half were camped in the opposition half for the majority of the period. Corby got reward for their constant pressure and finished the 1st half with a commanding 3-0 lead.

Second half Corby started a little sloppy, the first half performance being so solid allowed the girls to relax a little too much and allowed Kettering a lifeline with them scoring on a rare breakaway move early on in the second half. This woke Corby back up and they rallied back and scored a further 2 goals. This allowed for us to try some different personnel in different positions which did allow Kettering to score another 2 goals but this is down to the management and not the players.

Then it finally came for Lily -Mai who completed an excellent and well deserved hat trick to make it an excellent 6 goals for Corby.

A fine display again of attacking football, however we have to also praise our midfield and defence who today were strong, they communicated well, worked and plugged holes for each other. First half in particular was a great dominant display of defence, allowing us to attack at ease. Then in the second half the personnel moved into those positions also showed great aptitude for those positions.

Rose who had very little to do in the first half produced a fine display in the second half, keeping Kettering at bay on a number of occasions.

Because of the difficulty today in choosing a player of the match we asked the team one by one and Rose came out as the player of the match.
Well done girls a great game again.

So proud of the attitude and football you are displaying. At times you are unplayable!
