Corby Town U11's continue unbeaten run in the league

On Saturday 31st October Corby Town U11’s continued there unbeaten run in the league with a very tough game against Corby Town Bobcats u11’s.

First half was a scrappy affair with neither team really taking control and both defences and goalkeepers keeping their teams in the tie. The first period ended 0-0.

Into the second half bobcats came out quickly and played some excellent counter attacking football and with a scramble in the box managed to get their noses in front. This was the wake up call that the u11’s responded to. Utilising the wings we had some great link up play but couldn’t break down a very stubborn defence. It finally came with an excellent strike from Tillie from just inside the box to put the tie level with 10 minutes to go. And the U11’s continued to press forward in pursuit of a second. In the second half we had a lot of the ball with some sustained pressure especially towards the final quarter of the game. But we just couldn’t quite get that second goal and Bobcats always looked dangerous on the break.

We have seen Bobcats come on a huge amount this season and for their efforts fully deserved the draw. It’s great to see 2 evenly matched teams and both teams fully deserve praise for their efforts in what was a very wet and windy day.

POM for u11’s went to Skye for her constant pressure and also her awareness in getting back to support in defence.
Great game of football. Well done girls we go again next week at home against Rushden & Diamonds.
Tillie x 1 goal
