Winning start for Girls U11’s after league starts again

Corby Town Girls U11’s v Kettering Youth Girls U11’s

After an impeccable minutes silence for HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, Corby Town Girls U11’s and Kettering Youth U11’s restarted there football season after the 3rd Lockdown.

Was a game of the old cliche 2 halves. First half you could see the rust in Corby Town and Kettering Youth really came at Corby Town and had arguably the better half. However our defence was eminence and the reading of the game thwarted many of Kettering’s attacks. And was definitely a game of the midfields. The score line at half time was 0-0

Second half was a totally different Corby and with some changes and an easy team talk to get the girls to relax we saw them come out with very different attitudes. Corby managed to get their noses in front with cross/shot from the wing and never looked back. They soon added a second and the game really swung in Corby’s favour. With wave after wave, however with an error at the back Kettering pulled one back. Then a penalty for Corby which was saved and then a penalty to Kettering which was saved. The girls bust into life again and went in to score a further 4 goals. Passing this afternoon in the second half was excellent the girls were unselfish were looking and playing for each other. And read the game perfectly.

Great to be back and great start back.

Well done girls really proud of the teamwork, defensive work and interplay shown today.
