Today we saw our U12’s play with some freedom and really did play some excellent offensive football. Our front line today with both wingers and forwards really worked for each other and the interplay between them was great to see. Corby at half time were 4-1 up. There were a number of scares during the first half with some exceptional play from Roade’s danger player getting through on a few occasions. However our keeper was strong, stood up and rushed the offensive player to prevent the goals.

We learnt from this and after half time we changed tact. This really worked for the team and we saw us getting in time and time again. This made Roade go to a back 4 with a holding midfielder. However we managed to score another 2 goals in the second half and hit the woodwork with an excellent free kick. Special mention to Tillie who held the front line well and brought players into play and also to Lily-Mai, Skye and Layla who played excellent from the wings and got themselves into some great scoring positions. Last kick of the game was a penalty to Roade after an unfortunate hand ball in the box and the final score ended Corby Town U12’s 6 Roade Revolution 2. Player of the match was Rose for her outstanding goalkeeping display especially in those 1 on 1 situations.

Excellent game of football, well done girls and well done to Roade who put in a spirited display.
