Corby Town FC Girls U12’s v Kettering Town Girls U12’s
Today our girls succumbed to their first defeat of the season in what was a pulsating and physical game. First half Corby came out the blocks well and were unlucky not be leading early on. The focus was the press and to stop Kettering from playing their game and it worked really well in the first half. However Kettering scored with their only shot of the half on target and lead 1-0 at the break.
Second half Corby legs started to tire and Kettering took full advantage. We allowed Kettering to start playing their game and they took control and score a very quick 5 goals. The girls carried on to the end giving it their all and managed to get 1 back. The girls will take a lot from this game especially the first half as Corby were arguably the better team first half. Not a score line that reflected the game play. And considering Corby had a makeshift defence we couldn’t be prouder of the desire the girls showed today. Special mentions to Lottie, both Millie’s and Pixie who played really well today. And to Daisy who optimised the press today and was excellent. Player of the match went to Rose who played the sweeper keeper role today and first half worked a treat. Well done girls keep it going.
Final score 6-1 to Kettering Town
