Corby Town U15 7-0 Kingsthorpe Jets U15 Majesty

On a sun-drenched October morning, Corby Town U15s travelled to Northampton with purpose, ready to take on Kingsthorpe Jets U15 Majesty. The stage was set for what promised to be a gripping encounter, and Corby were intent on bringing home the spoils.

The game began with a chaotic rhythm, the ball bouncing from end to end like a high-stakes table tennis match. But, amid the frenzy, Corby slowly found their feet. The breakthrough came when Leila, ever alert, latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball. One touch to settle, one to finish—it was a clinical strike to make it 1-0, and Corby had their noses in front.

Still, the game refused to settle. The ball zipped back and forth, Kingsthorpe probing but unable to find a way through. Then, on 27 minutes, Skye—making her debut—played in Leila once more, and made no mistake. A cool finish, 2-0, but Corby knew they were far from safe.

Kingsthorpe didn’t wilt. Their number 8 was a constant threat, breaking through the Corby lines with determination, and captain Poppy was called into action, producing vital saves to preserve the lead. Corby’s defence was tested, but they stood firm, with Redd covering plenty of ground and Tilly exuding calm authority at the back.

Half-time came at just the right moment for Corby’s coaching staff—a chance to reorganise, rethink, and refocus. The second half saw Corby take control. Just five minutes after the restart, Tilly combined with Iris, then into a brilliant one-two with Leila, and Iris applied the finishing touch—a superb team goal to make it 3-0. From there, Corby hit their stride, playing with fluidity and purpose.

On 58 minutes, an attack that saw the ball bounce around like a pinball when eventually we saw Tia react, tucking the ball home after a barrage of shots that left Kingsthorpe’s defence floundering—4-0, and Corby were flying.

And the goals kept coming. On 61 minutes, Skye and Erin linked up beautifully, and Skye capped off the move with a composed finish—5-0. Corby were relentless. Lilly-Ella came close with a stinging effort that rattled the crossbar, and the Kingsthorpe defence looked powerless to stop the Corby onslaught.

As the game entered its final stages, Corby were in cruise control. Tilly, ever influential, orchestrating from the back with vision and precision. On 75 minutes, Leila completed her hat-trick, weaving through defenders as if they weren’t there before calmly slotting home—6-0, and surely game over.

But Corby weren’t done. In the dying moments, some exquisite interplay saw Iris once again set up Leila, who buried her fourth of the match—7-0, and the icing on the cake for a dominant second-half display.

It was a game of two halves—a Jekyll and Hyde performance—but when Corby clicked, they were irresistible. A 7-0 scoreline, a clean sheet, and a performance that will be remembered for its second-half brilliance.

Player of the Match went to Tilly, who was instrumental in everything Corby did, calm under pressure, and always looking to build play from the back. A complete performance from a player who truly dictated the tempo.

Corby Town U15s, left in 7th heaven. A day to remember for the young Corby side.
