Corby Town head on the road this weekend, and it’s a new opponent that lies ahead, Hitchin Belles Blues. For the Steel Girls, it’s game three of the season, and another chance to build momentum in what’s already shaping up to be a fascinating campaign.

Hitchin arrive from the Herefordshire Girls Division 1, where they finished fifth last year. But their first outing this season was a bruising one, a 4–0 defeat to Real Bedford. That result will have stung, and you can bet they’ll be out to put things right on their own patch.

Freya is the name on everyone’s lips right now, four goals in her first two games. She’s the one Hitchin will need to stop. Alongside her, Leila is still waiting to spark into life after early-season knocks and injuries, Saturday might just be the moment she finds her rhythm.
