On a Horrendous severe weather day yesterday in Wellingborough both Corby Town teams came up slightly short this time round with both teams finishing runners up.
The day started with Corby Town 65s Whites kicking off in strong winds and driving winds.
Trailing the league leaders Moulton Masters Reds by six points they met up in match one needing a win to give them any chance on the day but loosing the toss and playing against a strong wind they conceded late on going down 1-0.
Game two saw Corby bounce back with a 1-0 win over Moulton Masters Blues with Max Coleman scoring a cracking goal from distance.
Game three saw Corby held to a goalless draw against Crick after peppering their goal for most of the game.
Game four with the title gone saw Corby beaten 1-0 by Brackley to finish the day off finishing runners up in the league.
Corby Town 50s then kicked off lying second in Division 1 again playing in severe weather conditions.
Game one was a tight match being held to a 0-0 draw with Northampton Town.
Game two was against Kettering and they won this one 1-0 with Steve Shortland scoring the winning goal.
Game three was another hard fought win 2-1 against Moulton Whites with Kev Smith and Nick Ward scoring for Corby.
Game four was against league leaders Moulton Blacks and saw Corby lose 2-0 which resulted in having to take runners up this time round.
Well done to both teams finishing runners up we will be back next spring to try and go for the trophy.
