Our Lionesses continued their pre season on Saturday 17th and were on the road again away to Kettering Town FC. After last week’s disappointing result the girls were keen to put it behind them and played some excellent football.

We thank Daianna playing up a year for our U15’s stepping in to support us and had a very assured game and Charlotte also who played on the wing and put in a magnificent wingers display.

1st half the girls were out of the blocks quickly. And already we could hear the communication, both on and off the ball we were better and by half time we were 4-1 up with Skye scoring 2 pixie scoring 1 and an own goal.

2nd half and it was very much the same, Corby pressing and playing some excellent football and utilised the wings excellently. Second half ended with a final score of 8-2 to our Lionesses.

The partnerships in midfield were great to see and everyone played for each other. Pressed both individual and as a team, every player played their part in what was an excellent game. Special mentions to Aimee who was unlucky not to be on the score sheet, to Pixie who captained the team, to all our defence who really kept Kettering at bay, to Skye for an excellent hatrick and finally to Evie who got player of the match. Her calmness on the ball and the way she makes space and time for herself is so good to see and from such a young player ?

We thank Kettering for hosting us and we wish them well in their league campaign.
