Willoughby (607) Limited (trading as The Three Goats) has acquired a majority shareholding in Corby Town Football Club (1993) Limited (CTFC) and acquired all other financial interests previously held by Paul Glass.

The Three Goats is a hospitality and leisure group founded by Raj Uppal and Ben Cripps which encompasses The Nevill Arms in Medbourne, The Sun Inn at Great Easton, No. 23 restaurant in Uppingham and The Red Lion in Great Bowden.

The acquisition has been backed by co-investor Craig Nolan who is the founder and co-owner of Interkey Contracting Limited, a Corby-based construction and project management firm.

Chris Mallender, who has a 20-year association with CTFC, will become Chairman (subject to approval by The FA), and Leon Mettam will remain as First Team Manager.

Mr Mallender said: “The new owners have a vision to build a successful, modern, sustainable football club, plus improve the hospitality and leisure offering at the venue.

“None of the new owners had any previous involvement with the Club but, as local entrepreneurs, they are keen to see Steel Park thrive, combining on-pitch success with improved facilities for visitors. This is the start of an exciting new chapter for Steel Park.

“As we embark on this new phase in the club’s evolution, the new owners are keen to work with all stakeholders, including fans, sponsors, volunteers and North Northamptonshire Council to build a club of which the whole town can be proud.

“Some immediate changes and improvements will be made, but this is an ambitious, long-term project and there is a huge amount of work to be done, so we are asking the whole CTFC community to be patient and supportive while the changes are implemented.

Meanwhile, Interkey Contracting Limited is sponsoring the First Team’s new kit which will be launched for the FA Cup match against FC Peterborough on Saturday 8 August.

The club’s new ownership is looking forward to welcoming fans, both longstanding and new, to Steel Park.
