INTRODUCING THE STEELMEN

PART ONE

THEO AVERY (Goalkeeper): Nineteen-year-old Irish youth international goal keeper signed on loan from Northampton Town. Theo began his career in the under-18s at Mansfield Town and then switched to the youth team at Nottingham Forest. In two seasons at the City Ground he appeared in the under-18s and under-21s. Following his release from Forest he had trials with a number of clubs and opted to join Northampton Town last summer. He has yet to make his first team debut for Northampton but has been included in matchday squads.

SAM WARBIURTON (Defender): (Pictured). In 2024/25 Sam was a member of the Football Curriculum Vitai Grace Dieu Academy side which enjoyed great success in the Euro Soccer Nottingham Senior League Premier Division. Sam's part in this success was recognised by being awarded the club's Player of the Year. In the summer of 2025 Sam
stepped up to the Northern Premier League with Quorn and then had spells on duel registration with Hinckley and Shepshed. He then was signed on a contract by Boston United and mase eleven appearances for them before signing for Corby in December 2025 and making his Steelmen debut at Bourne on Boxing Day.

JAMES MATTHEWS (Midfield): A 6' tall holding midfield player. James spent two years with Mansfield Town as an under-18 player before being released from Field Mill. He then had joined AFC Mansfield and had brief spells with Gainsborough Trinity, Hallam FC and Ollerton Colliery before joining Carlton Town in May 2021. During the 2021/22 season James came on as a substitute for Carlton in their 4-2 home win over Corby Town in November 2021. In January 2022 he joined Frickley on loan and then had spells with Sherwood Colliery and Hallam again. In 2024/25 he had a second spell with AFC Mansfield and in May 2025 James signed for Mickleover. Arrived at Corby Town in January 2026.

MATTEO PERKINS (Midfield); A prolific goal scorer in under-18s football with Eynesbury Rovers in 2022/23 and St Neots Town the following season when they won the Huntindonshire County Youth Cup. At that time Matteo was operating on the wing but he now fills a central midfield role. He stepped up to senior football with Wisbech Town in July 2024 and since then has played for Yaxley and Shepshed Dynamo.
